Resource Library: Share Tools, Unlock Access
A True Sharing Economy Within Your Family Cell
Members share tools, equipment, and vehicles they own. In return, they earn credits to use OTHER resources for free.
How the Resource Library Works
1. Share What You Own
List items you're willing to share: power tools, camping gear, cars, bikes, kitchen equipment. Set availability and any usage guidelines.
2. Earn ORE (Initial Credit + Ongoing Unlocks)
Initial Credit: Market value ÷ 120 = ORE unlocked when first listed (€120 drill = 1 ORE). Ongoing: Earn 1 ORE per hour when others borrow your item (unlocks from Received → Usable balance).
3. Use Other Resources with ORE
Spend your earned Usable ORE to borrow other members' items. No cash changes hands - it's a direct ORE exchange system where your life hours become access to community resources.
4. Build Community Wealth
As the library grows, everyone gains access to thousands of euros worth of equipment without buying anything. Your ORE earned from sharing unlocks access to the entire community's resources. True sharing economy.
Real-World Examples
The Drill Scenario
You share your €120 drill → Initial: 1 ORE unlocked → Bob borrows it for 3 hours → You unlock 3 more ORE (Received → Usable) → Use your 4 ORE to borrow car for 4 hours!
The Car Share
Member shares their €12,000 car → Initial: 100 ORE unlocked (€12,000 ÷ 120) → Car borrowed for 10 hours total → Unlocks 10 more ORE → Can borrow tools, equipment, or other vehicles
Collective Wealth
A 30-member Cell shares 120 items worth €50,000 total. Each member gains access to this collective wealth by contributing what they have.
Why the Resource Library Matters
Access Over Ownership
Why own a drill you use twice a year? Access one when needed. Why buy a car if you drive weekly? Borrow one with credits.
Massive Savings
Members save thousands per year by sharing instead of buying. Money stays in the community, not corporate stores.
Environmental Impact
Fewer things produced and purchased. Longer item lifespans. Lower carbon footprint. Good for planet, good for wallet.
Strengthens Bonds
Sharing creates interdependence. Borrowing requires trust. The Library strengthens community relationships naturally.
Bamberg Library Growing
The pilot Cell has 45 items in their Resource Library worth over €8,000. Members report saving €50-200/month by sharing instead of buying.
