Family Cell Roles: Find Your Place

Structured Roles That Create Genuine Family Dynamics

Members can apply for specific roles within their Family Cell, creating the structure and support of a real extended family.

What Are Family Cell Roles?

Just like in a real family, Family Cells have roles that provide structure, responsibility, and belonging. Members can apply to hold specific roles - Parent, Child, Sibling, Cousin, Uncle/Aunt, Grandparent, or Neighbor. Each role comes with specific responsibilities and expectations that help the Cell function like a genuine extended family.

The 7 Core Roles

Parent (Mother/Father)

Primary caregivers and decision-makers. Parents provide guidance, wisdom, and stability. They mentor others, offer emotional support, and help resolve conflicts. Limited to 2-3 per Cell.

Grandparent (Grandfather/Grandmother)

Elder wisdom and perspective. Grandparents share life experience, provide historical context, and offer unconditional support. They're the Cell's anchors of tradition and values.

Uncle/Aunt

Secondary support and mentorship. Uncles and Aunts provide alternative perspectives, offer specialized skills, and support Parents in caregiving roles.

Sibling

Peer support and companionship. Siblings are equals who support each other through life's challenges. They share experiences, collaborate on projects, and build deep friendships.

Cousin

Extended peer network. Cousins provide additional community connections, bring fresh perspectives, and expand the support network beyond core family roles.

Child

Learning and growth focused. Children are newer members or those learning the ropes. They receive mentorship, develop skills, and contribute their unique energy and fresh perspectives.

Neighbor

Community connector. Neighbors maintain connections with adjacent Cells, facilitate inter-Cell collaboration, and help integrate new members into the broader OneFamily network.

How Roles Work

1

1. Apply for a Role

After being active for 3+ months with balanced reciprocity, members can apply for roles through the app. Write a brief motivation explaining why you want the role.

2

2. Community Endorsement

Your Host and 3 high-ranking members review your application. They consider your participation, Reciprocity Score, and fit for the role.

3

3. Host Approval

The Host makes the final decision, considering Cell capacity (roles are limited by Ideal Cell Size formula) and community feedback.

4

4. Fulfill Your Role

Log role-specific actions weekly. Receive peer feedback. Maintain a Role Performance Score (RPS) above 0.6 to continue in the role.

Why Roles Matter

Clear Structure

Roles provide clear expectations and responsibilities, making it easier to know how to contribute to your Cell.

Deep Belonging

Having a specific role creates genuine family-like connection. You're not just a member - you're a Parent, Grandparent, or Sibling.

Positive Accountability

Role Performance Scores and peer feedback help you grow while ensuring quality support for the whole Cell.

Personal Growth

Holding a role develops leadership, empathy, and community-building skills. Roles help you become your best self.

Role Performance System

Role holders log weekly actions and receive peer feedback. Your Role Performance Score (RPS) is calculated as a weighted rolling average on a 0.0-1.0 scale.

Performance Threshold

Members with RPS below 0.6 enter mandatory remediation: complete self-development courses, receive mentoring, and work to improve. The system supports growth, not punishment.

Support System

Struggling with your role? The Host and Cell provide mentorship, training, and resources to help you succeed. Everyone wants you to thrive.
